About me
Michael McCormick has been a Director with the National Council of Firefighter Credit Unions (NCOFCU) since its inception in 2001. He has also been a director with the San Diego Firefighters Federal Credit Union since 1998 serving as the Treasurer for 10 years, as the Vice Chairman for 8 years and became Chair in 2023. He has 29 years’ experience in the fire service working in small, medium and large fire departments. Most of his career was spent at the San Diego Fire Department, he retired as a fire captain with extensive experience on the Arson Team, the Technical Rescue squad and the Hazardous Material team in addition to Fire Operations. He also served in the United States Coast Guard Reserve for 25 years retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 4.
Michael has an Associate Degree in Fire Science, a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and a Masters in Business Administration. Since 1997 he has managed financial and accounting responsibilities in the private sector helping start-up and small companies bring new medical devices to market.
Michael has been married to his wife Mary Jo for 28 years. We play golf, travel and have two horses - hoping one day to be decent dressage riders.
